Welcome to the web home of the Missouri Paranormal Group. Missouri Paranormal Group (MPG) is a paranormal research group located in West Central Missouri in the rural community of Calhoun, MO. We are a new paranormal group comprised of friends who share a common interest in paranormal research and debunking.

Our Purpose

Our purpose as a paranormal research group is to disprove or prove hauntings through scientific and conventional research. When requested to research a location with supposed paranormal activity we go to that location with the mind set of disproving paranormal activity. We will do this through the implementation of the proven scientific method. This method requires us to gather information about claims of activity and we must then research what may be causing such claimed activity. Once we have a theory of what may be causing the claimed activity, we then test our theory and if we can produce the same results as what the client claims happens through a supposed paranormal occurrence then the claim must be considered debunked.

In some cases however, some activity may not be able to be reproduced and paranormal claims can be accepted. Our goal as a group of paranormal investigators is to go to a location and disprove paranormal activity. If however we leave a location with evidence remaining to support claims of paranormal activity, the location is then labeled as a haunted location.

Means of Evidence Collection

We the Missouri Paranormal Group use several tools during our investigation to help with evidence collection of paranormal activity. We posses two hand-held digital video cameras that use infrared nightshot (the ability to see in the complete dark). Also we possess four infrared digital security cameras that record simultaneously to a computer. The four infrared digital security cameras are set up in areas of a location where it is highly likely to capture paranormal activity (according to the reports of location owners or keepers). The two hand-held infrared digital video cameras are used by teams of MPG to allow the capture of first hand experiences while an investigation is taking place.

In additional to the digital video cameras we also implement the use of digital voice recorders. It is believed that paranormal activity can be captured on these devices through the acquirement of disembodied voices and sounds. If a disembodied voice or sound is captured on a digital voice recorder it is labeled a EVP or Electronic Voice Phenomenon. This evidence may then be presented to the location owner or keeper. In addition we also use several other tools such a K2 meter and an Infrared Thermometer.

Our Fee for Investigations

We do not charge for our investigations. We feel that if we charge to investigate a location that our work may be considered discreditable and fake. The Missouri Paranormal Group is a paranormal research team that believes in helping people for nothing more than appreciation. We understand that some people feel like hostages in their own home because of fear they have of the paranormal. We are only here to help comfort people, and to provide them with an accurate investigation to help put their minds at ease if needed. It is proven that over 90% of paranormal claims can be discounted due to simple occurrences that are far from paranormal.
